Connie and I moved to Colorado when I retired in 2014. Both of us had grown up in Lincoln, NE and lived there all of our lives. So why move to Colorado? Moving to a place we adore had a lot to do with it. I have vacationed in Colorado since childhood; Connie since she was a teenager. We came here with our own kids, staying in the area around Estes Park. So it’s a very familiar place. We’ve owned a home here since 2010, planning ahead for retirement.
Estes Park is such a warm and friendly place. So many things to do! We soon became involved in volunteer activities at the library, Village Thrift store, Newcomers Club, and our home owners association. I help local non-profits build and maintain web sites. Connie has continued her art restoration business here in Colorado after many years in Nebraska. Her web site is connieleavitt.com. Of course, we love to hike and get out whenever we can.
Our children and grandchildren live in Lincoln and Omaha. It’s not such a long drive so we get to see them often – Yay! We look forward to meeting more townspeople and getting even more involved in town activities.
